Natalie - I had that same problem the first few times I walked past. There is no sign to speak of, only a tiny scrawl in chalk against a gray doorframe to indicate its existence when it's closed. I think they open around 7pm for evening service. At any rate, it is there, I went last Thursday and enjoyed a refreshing and surprising glass of rosé and a plate of delicious duck sausage.

I completely agree with your "fear" of baking. No improvisation = no fun, easy mistakes. Have read David L's blog as well, but am definitely interested in the fact that "he doesn't like sweet things". Perhaps I'll pick up a copy of the book on the 19th, when he'll be speaking at WHSmith bookstore in Paris. Thanks! - and the wine bar sounds great-

So glad to hear about Tombé du Ciel! We just moved to the neighborhood, and it's great to hear there's such a good place so close by. Really, stumbling distance, if it comes to that. :)
