So glad you enjoyed the memories, Lynn. We eventually moved to Weston, too, and had to drive to Westport for major shopping and anything interesting. Most of the supermarkets on U.S. 1, aka the Post Road, that I knew then are gone, including the late but not lamented A & P and the erroneously named Finast, but Stop & Shop soldiers on. And yes, Rippe's had a terrific selection of different apples. All best, Alec

Thanks for the flashback. I grew up in Weston, Connecticut and remember the farm stand on Route 1, but did not remember the name. My mother did all her food shopping in Westport as there were no big stores in Weston and it was a treat for us to stop on the way home for apples and cider. What I remember was the variety of apples available, something that I have found in few places since then.
