Dear Polly-Vous,

I think I'd love the 9th even if I didn't live here. It's so convenient but confidential, and it still feels like Paris, instead of other neighborhoods where all of the life has been drained away by the proliferation of expensive pied a terres for occasional residents.

Alex, Thanks for Le Pantruche. We went the other night and loved it. True, though, that the desserts need work, but first and main courses were terrific, service is very sweet, and the red cotes du Rhone is a swell wine. Later, Ron
