I LOVE the 9th!!
If my second-cousin didn't live there I would have missed out on so much - a well kept secret still.
I don't eat hamburgers in NYC anymore so I'll stick with Rose Bakery for the time being...thought the Assiette Russe does sound very tempting. I miss most in Paris finding assiette de crudities everywhere btw...

Really glad to read a positive review of Maison Mère. I've been interesting in trying it since I first read about it but I've come across a slew of disparaging remarks about the service and food, particularly the burger. I do think you're a much more credible source than the others and that photo seems to be sufficient evidence! It's on the list.
