So sorry for your wife and friend, but thank you for sparing me from what would have been a very bitter disappointment. Subsequent to hearing of this letdown, I am swearing off any hope of ever finding decent risotto anywhere in Paris aside from my own kitchen.

Re Casa Olympe, yes, alas, I have been told that they will close just before the summer holidays in France once and for all, a terrible shame, since it's long been one of my favorite restaurants.

Best regards, Alec

My 2 dishes were very satisfying; the sautéed foie gras with strawberries and a most generous and rosy magret de canard. Unfortunately my wife and friend had not read your article and ordered the risotto of langoustines…big disappointment; the risotto was like polenta and the langoustines were completely mushy as if they had been frozen and thawed.

Do you have any update on the purported closing of an old-time neighborhood fave, Casa Olympe?

I've been thinking about that brandade de morue ever since I left the table, and the charm, generosity and quality of this nice little bistro will see me coming through the door again very soon as well. Best, Alec

We have a place in Montmartre and found this place by walking down the hill and happening to stop to read the menu. It looked interesting and we stepped inside and felt the sweet energy of the place. We went with a friend and had a fabulous meal. An interesting Romarantin from the wine list, delicious starters of white asparagus and asparagus velouté, excellent main dishes of the quenelles and bar roti. The service was just right. We're planning to take other friends soon.

And I intend to return soon and have that big fluffy quenelle, too. This place also has an excellent website, which regularly posts its updated menu and little articles about their current produce, menu and wines. Hope you'll like it, too. Best, Alec

I can't wait to go there. I love brandade de morue but Bruno's quenelles de brochet look amazing. It is almost lunch time here in California and that dish has my mouth watering. Thanks so much for sharing.
