Perhaps they have been paying attention to the feedback as we went there for lunch today and had excellent, attentive service to complement the beautiful food. All up a very satisfactory experience.

We went there last night and found it to be in most respects excellent. Above all the food, which is delicious and features great ingredients innovatively combined. The candle-lit ambience is really charming. If the services isn't the high point -- they never offered or brought us water -- neither was it really anything to complain about. Oh, and it's definitely on the pricey side for a neighborhood bistro. But I suspect we'll be back.

Those pork rillettes were delicious! And if L'Affable can warm up its welcome and get its reservations book organized, I think this place will be around for a while, since Jean-Francois Pantaleon is a very interesting chef. Best, Alec

Alec, I well remember the pork rillettes starter at L'Oeillade back in December of 2003 when we spent a long weekend at Hotel Duc de St. Simon next door. It was the year every shop in Paris was playing Norah Jones. Great to hear the location has been fittingly revived and we hope to find our way to
L'Affable on the next trip.
