The chef of L'Arpège is Alain Passard. Another of Passard's interns has opened Racines. Have you tried it yet Pretty good.

Bonjour Alexander,

I wish we'd read your very accurate review of L'Agape before we made the expensive mistake of going there. As you said, it's not that the food is bad, but rather it's pretentious, too expensive and joyless.

On the other hand, we loved Au Vieux Chene, which we found in your book! What an excellent little bistro--many thanks! Sharon
