Hello Elizabeth,
Pramil is a delightful restaurant, but do contact them, of course, to see if they'll be open on Xmas day, which is a challenging one for dining out in Paris. La Fontaine de Mars in the 7th is also often open on Xmas day and serves good traditional bistro food, too.

I've been enjoying reading your blog in my search to find a place for Christmas day lunch for my husband, myself and our 10yr old twins. We will have arrived very early that morning in Paris after a LONG flight from Australia and will be staying in Place des Vosges. Pramil is one I am considering. Do you think it would be a good choice Can you suggest some others

Hi Alec-
I too really enjoyed Pramil. I have been back twice already. When I went there last summer, there was a lovely wine shop a few doors down from the restaurant. The owner is American and he specializes in wine from the South of France. He had a deal with Pramil whereby if you bought a bottle of wine from his shop to drink w/a meal at Pramil, the restaurant would only charge a 5 Euro corkage fee. It was a great deal (he even had cold bottle of white wine in his shop).

You should check it out next time you go to Pramil. I can't remember the name of the caviste -- but it's across the street on Rue Vertbois a couple of doors down from the restaurant.

Many thanks, Alexander! We took you up on Pramil the other night and had a wonderful meal.

We also got to chatting with some other Americans in a cafe the other day because we saw your book on their table, and all of us expressed the same hope that you might be working on a book called Hungry for France!
