Had a delightful lunch at Semilla today. Entree trio consisted of silken pumpkin soup, homemade Melba toast with yummy goat cheese mousse and hazelnuts, and a perfectly poached egg sitting atop a swirl of marinated leeks. This beautiful presentation was followed by a perfect filet of lamb, tender and seasoned well. Too full for desert. Nice wines by the glass, not too pricey The open kitchen makes it even more fun.

You're an admirably loyal pal, Senor Williamson. I think both Francois and I appreciate the relaxed but lively atmosphere at Fish la Boissonerie, and I'm always happy to discover that a restaurant has improved. Hope Fish has become as good as the swell Semilla. Cheers, Alec

Semilla will be bursting into flower any day now. Inspirational, fun & enjoyable indeed. Fish la Boissonerie requires a relaxed second look in my well rehearsed view. C'est very excellent & has been through an culinary confidence course that suggests to me you will have more Ahh! & Ouhh! to your comments next time round. Friendship definitely oui - but i am not the only local who likes the place. Ask François Simon.

From the pictures and your descriptions, it looks like they serve terrific food. I love blanquette de veau and I think I would really like the springy fresh version they serve at Semilla. Thanks for a great write-up.
